How to Successfully Buy Lingerie for Women

Giving a woman lingerie can be a thoughtful and romantic gift if executed correctly. To master the art of lingerie shopping (and especially shopping online), here are some tips and tricks to keep in mind when buying her this special gift.

• SIZE.
  Before buying any lingerie it is wise to know her size. If you buy the incorrect size, you can send the wrong message without even knowing. There are several ways to find out, the easiest of which is to simply ask. If you want to keep your gift idea secret, you can look through her current lingerie wardrobe to find her size. It might be helpful to look at the sizes of a few of each item to pick the one that you find most frequent. Try and find a pair of panties (usually S,M,L,XL), a bra (i.e. 34C), and if she has any other lingerie, like a babydoll or corset, you can make a note of those sizes, too.
  If you are unable to find out by looking at her current wardrobe, and do not want to ask, do not guess. Here are a few fun and nearly foolproof methods to find out her cup size based on their comparison to fruit, or for those of you who do not eat a lot of fruit, sports equipment.

• STYLE.
  There are so many different styles of lingerie, but the best way to know what hers is, yeah, you guessed it, to ask her. You can also take note of what kinds of lingerie you've seen her wear before, or see in her drawers. If you don't know what different styles are called, take a look at our lingerie encyclopedia.
  She will appreciate the time you take to pick out something she will like. Think about what parts of her body she likes. For example, if she loves her legs, you could buy a flirty babydoll so she can show them off. If she has nice cleavage, halter tops or bustier style tops are flattering.

• COLOR.
  An easy way to figure out some of her favorite colors would be to look at the colors of clothing she wears the most, or the colors of items she happily tells you are her favorite. Black, Red or White and Off-White look good on almost anyone. Generally, blondes look good in pastels, brunettes darker colors like emerald or purple, and red heads are flattered by greens and earthy tones.
  

• GIFT CERTIFICATES.
  If you are still nervous to buy your sweetie lingerie, you can always buy her a gift certificate and let her pick out something she will love. You can always pick something out together!

• PRESENTATION.
  Remember, whether you choose to buy something for her, or buy her a gift certificate, make the occasion special by wrapping (or having it wrapped) nicely, maybe add a thoughtful card, and always add a lot of romance!
  
  
• MISCELLANEOUS.
  Remember, you are buying this lingerie for her, not you. Sure the models look hot in skimpy styles, but make sure this is something she will like, too. If she likes it as much as you do, you will BOTH have a wonderful night!
